Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Fall Colors Celebration!

Join Lakewood as we celebrate the beauty of Autumn!

Walk through the peaceful grounds at Lakewood and admire the changing of the seasons at our annual Fall Colors Celebration! This event is free and open to the public. Activities include free apple cider, the Living Memory Tree, self-guided tours, and more to be announced. At this time we are not planning to offer trolley tours for the safety of our guests.

Activities

You can enjoy the following free activities from 12-4 p.m. (no ticket required):

Sip warm apple cider as you stroll through the gorgeous Lakewood grounds and admire the beautiful tree canopy
Tie a ribbon to the Living Memory Tree to honor someone you've loved and lost
Explore the grounds using our self-guided walking tour brochure (PDF)
Walk through the historic Lakewood Chapel
Join Lakewood's tour guides for a guided walking tour of some of Lakewood's most popular sites. Tours are $5 in advance or $8 at the door - Click here to reserve your spot on the tour Tours will be available at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00pm. Accessibility note: No stairs will be taken, For the safety of all guests, we will not go into buildings, but you will be able to go into the buildings independently following the tour.

The Lakewood Memorial Chapel

While you're enjoying the tree canopy, take a moment to stop by the chapel, which will be open to guests during this event. This stunning chapel is one of our city’s most beloved architectural treasures. Because of its incredible beauty and historical significance, it is a popular place for end-of-life ceremonies, weddings, concerts, tours and other celebrations of beauty, art and remembrance.

Dedicated in 1910, the Chapel was modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul by prominent Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones. Its 10-million piece mosaic interior, created by New York designer Charles Lamb, features a 40-foot high dome ringed with stained glass windows and 12 mosaic angels.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Chapel is one of the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic architecture in the country. Learn more about the Lakewood Memorial Chapel.
