Celebrate the beauty of fall at Lakewood's Fall Colors Celebration! Activities include trolley tours of Lakewood, free apple cider, Minneapolis history exhibit and more.

Trolley tours of Lakewood

Take in the beautiful fall colors while you learn about the history, art and landscape of Lakewood's 250 acres of urban memorial parkland.

Trolley tours are 45-50 minutes and cover the founding and history of Lakewood, landscape design, famous "residents," architecture and artistic monuments — all with spectacular views of the cemetery.

Tickets are $10, available at the event. Tour times including 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Space is limited and tours do sometimes sell out.

More free activities

You can also enjoy the following free activities from 12-4 p.m. (no ticket required):

  • Sip some warm apple cider inside the award-winning Garden Mausoleum, recipient of numerous awards for contemporary architecture

  • See our "Minneapolis at 150" history exhibit (also inside the Garden Mausoleum), a series of story-boards that show how Minneapolis developed into a grand city — including its grand cemetery, Lakewood — through the leadership and hard work of entrepreneurs and laborers, land developers and visionaries.

  • Pick up your free copy of Lakewood's history book (while supplies lasts)

  • See the Lakewood Memorial Chapel — visitor guides available inside

  • Explore the grounds using our self-guided walking tour brochure (PDF) or one of eight tours available using the Lakewood mobile app
