Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event!

Hosted by Lakewood virtually through Zoom.

About this event

During this time of uncertainty, grief is an emotion that many of us share and feel. It is important to welcome in and face head-on the feelings of grief. The grief we feel when we lose someone or something of great significance to us may be overwhelming and invite us to search for meaning, mechanisms of healing, or distractions. But no matter how hard we try; we cannot make it better. That is okay.

In this 2 hour online retreat we will offer meditative practices and a ritual that can help us to find some space in our suffering. This approach based on mindfulness and self-compassion will offer ourselves to breath, allow ourselves to name and face our grief, and sit with our grief as we reflect on the current situations surrounding us. This retreat will be instructor led and interactive if the user chooses to do so.

Your guide, Christin Ament, is a palliative care and hospice provider who has led meditations on death around the globe. She has studied with teachers from many wisdom traditions and brings a deeply grounded presence to this powerful practice.

This event is part of the Lakewood Experience Series, a series of events and activities that are intended to encourage and support personal reflection and creative expression.
