Join us for jazz vocalist Sarah M. Greer in the intimate Lakewood Memorial Chapel!

Named one of "15 artists of color to know on the Twin Cities jazz scene " by The Current in 2019, Sarah M. Greer is an improvisational vocalist who performs regularly with a cappella ensemble the Give Get Sistet and a variety of Minnesota jazz musicians, including Steven Hobert, Dean Magraw and Davu Seru. Her debut album, What the Music Says Do, was released this past year.

She's performed at numerous events, festivals and conferences, including the 30th Annual Women & Spirituality Conference and she's received three Artist Initiative Awards by the Minnesota State Arts Board.

Doors open at 2 p.m. Arrive early and take a self-guided tour of the Lakewood Memorial Chapel before the concert. Free tour brochures will be available.

Dedicated in 1910, the Chapel was modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul by prominent Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones. Its 10-million piece mosaic interior, created by New York designer Charles Lamb, features a 40-foot high dome ringed with stained glass windows and 12 mosaic angels. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Chapel is one of the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic architecture in the country. Learn more about the Lakewood Chapel.
