Thank you to everyone who attended this event!

Lakewood Cemetery’s “Music in the Chapel” concerts showcase a variety of artists in one of our city’s most beloved architectural treasures—the Lakewood Memorial Chapel.

On Sunday, May 6, join us for the emotive, folk stylings of singer-lyricist David Huckfelt, a founding member of Minneapolis indie roots/Americana band The Pines. Originally from Iowa, The Pines have been making music for over a decade, and have earned acclaim from Rolling Stone magazine for their quietly gripping stark-country songs.

Lakewood’s Memorial Chapel will be open for viewing and self-guided tours beginning at 2:00 p.m.

About the Chapel

Dedicated in 1910, the Lakewood Memorial Chapel was modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul by prominent Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones. Its 10-million piece mosaic interior, created by New York designer Charles Lamb, features a 65-foot high dome ringed with stained glass windows and 12 mosaic angels. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Chapel is one of the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic architecture in the country.

Tickets cost $10.
