Lakewood Cemetery’s “Music in the Chapel” concerts showcase a variety of artists in one of our city’s most beloved architectural treasures—the Lakewood Memorial Chapel.

On Sunday, April 8, join us for the beautiful and soulful voices of choral ensemble, Anonymous Choir, singing the music of such luminaries as Kate Bush, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Wendy Rene. Anonymous Choir emerged in 2011 led by pianist/musician Nona Marie Invie and close friends as a way to purge the winter blues and stir something musical and creative together with a community of women. They have performed for both local and national venues, including providing original live choral scores for film festivals and dance performances.
Lakewood’s Memorial Chapel will be open for viewing and self-guided tours beginning at 2:00 p.m.
About the Chapel
Dedicated in 1910, the Lakewood Memorial Chapel was modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul by prominent Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones. Its 10-million piece mosaic interior, created by New York designer Charles Lamb, features a 65-foot high dome ringed with stained glass windows and 12 mosaic angels. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Chapel is one of the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic architecture in the country.
Tickets cost $10.
